Natural is in this year for Spring decor.  You will find rattan (nest) chargers, moss, greenery, raffia, and burlap.  As always, pastels play a main focus for all of your spring and Easter decorating.  Fresh spring flowers are always nice right before a party or Easter brunch.

Coming soon-- Next chapter -- party favors.  See you soon!

Cheesecake Strawberries

Want an easy, yummy sweet treat for your Valentine?
You will need only TWO ingredients:
  1. Philadelphia Cheesecake Filling (in the tub)
  2. Fresh Strawberries
First, wash strawberries and pat dry.  Next, cut the bottom tip off of the strawberry (this is so the strawberries stand up on the plate).  Using a strawberry huller, remove the top of the strawberry and carefully scoop out the inside of the berry.  Fill a pastry bag with tip and cheesecake filling.  Fill strawberries using the filled pastry bag.  Use sprinkes if desired.  Serve chilled.

Super Bowl Party Ideas

Planning on hosting the Super Bowl party at your house this year?  Here are some fun and easy tips & ideas to do make it extra fun!
  • Make sure you have extra room for seating and that everyone has a good view of the TV
  • With that said, make sure your TV is in working order- you don't want to miss a single play!
  • Set up a food and drink station to allow guests to serve themselves.
  • Serve finger-foods, such as, wings, sandwiches, burgers, chips and dips.
  • Set up an area for the kids to play together.  Try a football themed activity. Ie: football color pages or check out Century Novelty for some inexpensive football themed games.
  • Set the start time at least a half hour earlier than the game starts.

Girl's Night Food and Drinks

Getting ready to plan my annual "girl's night" at my house.  I just love this one!  I get to see all of my besties at one time in a relaxing, fun environment!
I am trying to get the menu figured out and here is what I've come up with so far:

  • Mexican Shrimp (Sheree said she'd bring-- it is AWESOME!) Not sure if this is the correct recipe- she is bringing me that too- I will share =)
  • Cheese Fondue I usually use white wine instead of Brandy
  • Scallops - YUM!
  • Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms
We will also have some desserts -not sure yet on that-
AND I will be making some winter/Christmastime cocktails!
  • I will try to recreate the "Jack Frost" Martini at Bar Louie
  • and some kind of coffee drinks...
SO fun!  I will post pics later! I just wanted to share some great recipes!  Hope you have a fun holiday season with friends and family!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Just finished up my holiday decorating.  Here are the results:
My mantle is done in mercury glass with red accents.  The photos are of my husband as a child with Santa, and one of my son with Santa.

This year we decided to place our tree down in the basement, aka hubby's man cave- and Josh got to set up his train this year too. Big Fun =)

Tried to use Deco Mesh this year- it's pretty easy to use, you just need matching pipe cleaners.  Just bunch it up at the top and attach to a branch.  Let it run down about a foot, bunch and attach again.  Continue down the tree.  Here is a how to video:

I think I need a little more practice and some wider Deco Mesh!

Halloween Tabletop centerpiece

Did a little Halloween crafting last night- Here are a couple of things that I did-
Repurpose what you have- I had a vase, some tiny pumpkins, and some Halloween sprigs.  Made this arrangement and then added a cute little owl and a pretty ribbon.
This skull I have had for years-- It lights up and everything!  It was getting pretty scuffed up and cracked- a little paint and TLC and viola! good as new-
